Investing for the future has become a natural part of life that occurs in a variety of forms. We go to school with an eye on better things to come. We raise and mentor children with the hope that they will become good and productive adults. We work and we try to save a little for a rainy day. In all cases our actions today help set the stage for what happens tomorrow, and they involve things that we don’t want to leave to chance.

Still, many individuals and organizations expecting a secure financial future leave themselves overly vulnerable to chance simply because they’re not familiar with the actions they should be taking today in anticipation of tomorrow. Poor understanding of future needs and financial solutions is not an issue of fault – we rely on doctors, for example, to know how to manage our health issues – but failure to enlist a knowledgeable advocate is.
